With his best deputies off investigating Thistletop, the sheriff quickly deputized Basatari, Nost'rusva and Maitreya who soon took the lead in a murder investigation, but what at first seemed like an isolated incident was revealed to be only the start of a string of murders plaguing Sandpoint.
