Not much is known to Tarak of his parents. Adopted by and raised by an orc family, Tarak's life was spared solely because of his father's contributions to the tribe. Tarak was told from early age that his father, Garlak, was a brave and noble warrior who had proudly served the interests of the Red Fangs Tribe until his mind was polluted by a human witch. So evil was this witch, that her own human kinsmen sought her destruction and hunted her down. When the humans confronted her, she was performing sadistic rituals on Garlak, now fully enthralled by her wicked magics. The humans destroyed the witch and the orc. Garlak's remains were then recovered and brought back to his ancestral home for proper burial. Tarak always suspected there was more to the story but, no one would offer any further answers.
Tarak's childhood was little more than slavery and abuse, hated by his peers for not being full-blooded. As he aged, life among the orcs never became any easier. His entire purpose, it seemed, was to cater to the needs of his full-blooded orc 'betters.' The only skills Tarak developed were learned by watching the warriors and hunters secretly and from afar. He was forbidden from martial training unless a full-blood was short a sparring partner.
As the years crawled along, Tarak realized he would never be allowed to feed the hunger of his curiosity by the orcs. Planning his escape, Tarak infiltrated the supply hut, procured armor, a club, and several days rations. Finally, under the cover of daylight, he slipped the confines of his intangible restraints.
Knowing that a hunting party would be quick on his trail, Tarak fled as fast as his feet would carry him. Making his way into human lands, he soon made unexpected friends and adventuring companions of many races. He had no idea that his adventures had only just begun...
